They don’t sing anymore in Cheapside Street
they don’t sing anymore at night
And the smoke that rises from Cheapside Street
says nothing will be alright
Broken barrels mixed with rubble and glass
line the streets under broken light
And the cry is heard throughout this Tinderbox Town
of blood that flew last night
The sun rises through a dark grey cloud
says, Tinderbox Town, wake up
Rise and bury your dead this morning
but the pain will never stop
